Robert Lippert


Robert is a financial economist with over two decades of global business experience, having held corporate, consulting, and academic positions in finance and strategy. He is also the co-author of The New CFOs: How Finance Teams and Their Leaders Can Revolutionize Modern Business, written with Liz Mellon, David C. Nagel, and Nigel Slack.

Through executive education, consultation, and executive coaching, Robert helps organizations develop and execute strategies for sustainable financial success. He has served on the faculties of Emory University, Georgia State University, Rutgers University, and the University of South Carolina. Robert has won numerous teaching awards, published extensively, taught and consulted in over 50 countries, and been a keynote speaker at events across five continents.

Within executive education, Robert designs, develops, and delivers programs on the topics of strategy, finance, and leadership for clients across a variety of industry segments. He has also coached senior executives in strategy, finance, and business acumen, particularly those with narrow career paths or who are transitioning between industries or companies.

Robert was the CFO and vice president of strategic planning for a publicly traded holding company which specialized in insurance. His primary duties in this role were to manage the acquisition, integration, and divestiture of existing businesses; oversee the formulation and implementation of the corporate strategic plan; manage the business planning and budgeting process; co-manage a multi-million-dollar investment portfolio; and interact with Wall Street analysts, investment bankers, and investors in the financial community.

Robert earned a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University and a doctorate in finance from the University of South Carolina. He also serves on the board of directors and is chair of the audit committee at Pareteum Corporation.
