She lives with her amazing husband and adorable rescue dog, Hula, near Chapel Hill, NC. In 2021, she and her husband left the Washington, DC area after selling their house and belongings to travel the country full-time in their Airstream. Over 2.5 years, they visited 49 states, Canada, Mexico, and 55 national parks; they also took Hula to dip her paws into each of the Great Lakes. Amy loves to be outdoors, whether skiing, hiking, biking, or sitting with a good book or around a campfire with friends. She is a professionally trained chef and worked as a bread baker during college. Cooking and baking are among her favorite hobbies and how she likes to serve the community; she enjoys volunteering with food security organizations, teaching after-school cooking classes, and demonstrating how healthful foods can also be delicious. Her personal motto is “Semper Disco” – “I’m always learning.”
