Brinna Deavellar

Brinna manages UNC Executive Development’s social media accounts, writes copy, and closely monitors user engagement. Her role extends beyond social media; she also writes and edits thought leadership resources and other website content, builds and deploys sales and promotional emails, manages inbound leads from prospective clients, researches and analyzes competitors’ social media strategies, and recommends actionable steps for driving engagement.

Before her current role, Brinna served as social media and marketing manager at the boutique staffing firm Spec Personnel. During her tenure, she spearheaded a successful website relaunch, resulting in a 150% increase in traffic. Her cost-saving initiatives included developing and deploying email and social media campaigns inhouse, which saved the company approximately $5,000 per month in third-party software costs. Her leadership extended to creating a unified social media policy and conducting management trainings on legal compliance, emphasizing excellent customer service and lead generation.

Brinna holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from North Carolina Central University. While at the university, she served the Durham, NC community by volunteering for non-profit social services organization In Stepp, Inc. In this role, she crafted a new marketing plan to drive engagement for the organization’s legal aid services and designed updated promotional materials.

When she is not working, Brinna enjoys cooking (especially Italian food), baking, tasting new wines, and otherwise enjoying everything related to dining and fine cuisine.
